When I was a kid, I had the poem “That’s What Little Girls are Made of” hanging beside my bed. I read that poem multiple times every single night. I realized recently, there is a powerful opportunity here! If there’s a chance that your kids would read something multiple times every night, what message would you want to send to them?
We’ve created a few posters that you can hang beside your child’s bed or put on their nightstand, like the poem beside my childhood bed. But, there is an even better idea! Write your child a message by hand. An old-fashioned love letter to your son or daughter. Get really brave and add a drawing of you and your child. Even if you hate your printing and have since grade 4 and swear you can’t draw, do it! If you write a message to your child, they will LOVE it. They love you, they love your printing and they will love your stick “mommy and me”.
Our little people often give us drawings of themselves, of us or of their family, and they will recognize the place your letter comes from. Reciprocate the gift that they like to give to you, and embrace the perfect imperfection of fabulous stick people. Send a powerful message, in a love language they often speak. And, they may end up reading it a thousand times.
Keep it simple! Use one of our printables, choose a quote from our list, or simply write a little I Love You note that they will cherish. Just hit the button below and they’ll be delivered to your inbox.
